About holidays and dates
Some holidays are tied to a number and never move: New Year is always 1 January. Others follow a rule — Thanksgiving falls on the fourth Thursday of November, and Easter is worked out by a formula of its own. A third group depends on the lunar calendar, and their dates differ by a day between countries. A fourth kind sits in the calendar, but the day is appointed by a school or a city — holidays, graduation night, the last bell. Hence the badges in the catalogue, «approximate» for lunar dates and «estimated» for school ones, and the year-by-year table on every holiday page.
