About date difference

Calculating the difference between dates seems simple — but the result depends on which unit you use. The same interval is 730 days, 24 months, 2 years, or 104 weeks, and each formulation is correct.

This calculator shows the difference in all units at once — from days to quarters — and separately counts workdays and weekend days. Useful for planning, deadlines, contract durations, or just curiosity.

Days & weeks

Precise
730 days = 104 wk. + 2 days
Days are the most precise unit. A week is always 7 days, so conversion is unambiguous. Use days and weeks for short deadlines: sprints, delivery times, countdowns.

Months & years

Approximate
1 year 3 mo. 15 days
Months have different lengths (28–31 days), so converting to months is always approximate. The tool counts full calendar months. Useful for age, contract duration, employment tenure.

Workdays

Mon–Fri
14 cal. days = 10 workdays
Workdays are Monday–Friday, excluding public holidays. Holidays vary by country and are not counted. Use for estimating task completion timelines.

Quarters

For business
6 months = 2 quarters
A quarter is 3 months. Used in financial planning, reporting and business analytics. A quarter doesn't depend on specific month lengths — it's simply one fourth of a year.
