Frequently asked questions
Russian property tax deadline: 1 December 2026, Tuesday; 1 December 2027, Wednesday; 1 December 2028, Friday. The date follows a rule — 1 December, moved to the next working day if it is a day off — so it is known years ahead. The counter at the top always shows the nearest date, and the “Dates by year” block below lists five years.
The counter at the top of the page shows the days, hours and minutes left until the property tax deadline and updates every second by your device’s clock. On the day itself it shows “Today”, and from the next day it counts down to the following year. Nothing needs entering: the date follows the rule.
From the day after the deadline penalty interest accrues for every day late — one three-hundredth of the Central Bank rate on the amount owed. The tax still has to be paid, and the penalty grows until it is. The amount and payment details are in the tax notice and the taxpayer’s account on the Federal Tax Service site or Gosuslugi.
By 1 December 2026 individuals pay three taxes for 2025 from the tax notice: property tax on a flat, house or garage; land tax on a plot; and vehicle tax on a car, motorbike or boat. If no notice came but you own property, you must tell the tax office. Deadlines follow the Russian Tax Code; this is not tax advice.
Yes. Under Article 6.1(7) of the Tax Code a deadline that falls on a day off or public holiday moves to the next working day. For example, 1 December 2029 is a Saturday, so the deadline moves to Monday, 3 December. In 2026, 1 December is a Tuesday; any move is shown in a line under the counter.

The widget updates itself, sets no cookies, congratulates visitors on the day and then counts down to the property tax deadline the following year.
