Frequently asked questions
Russian Airborne Forces Day: 2 August 2027, Monday; 2 August 2028, Wednesday; 2 August 2029, Thursday. The date follows a rule — 2 August — so it is known years ahead. The counter at the top always shows the nearest date, and the “Dates by year” block below lists five years.
The counter at the top of the page shows the days, hours and minutes left until Airborne Forces Day and updates every second by your device’s clock. On the day itself it shows “Today”, and from the next day it counts down to the following year. Nothing needs entering: the date follows the rule.
No, Russian Airborne Forces Day is not a day off: it is not on the list of public holidays in Article 112 of the Russian Labour Code. If the date falls on a Saturday or Sunday, it is an ordinary weekend, but no day off is moved to Monday. Days off and moved days for the whole year are in the working calendar.
Airborne Forces Day in Russia is marked on 2 August: on that day in 1930 the first parachute landing was made during exercises near Voronezh. It is a military commemorative day, not a day off. On this page: a live countdown, the date this year and next year, the weekday and the working days left until it.
Under the counter is a “Working days until the event” line — it counts the working days until Airborne Forces Day by the Russian working calendar, with public holidays and moved days off. Today is not counted, and for years with no published calendar yet the count follows a plain five-day week without holidays, which is noted on the page.
Press “Add to your site” under the counter: the widget builder opens with this event. Pick the size and theme, copy the code — a single iframe tag with no scripts — and paste it into an HTML block on your site. The widget updates itself, sets no cookies, congratulates visitors on the day and then counts down to Airborne Forces Day the following year.
