This Markdown to Word converter builds a document with real styles: headings show up in the navigation pane and the table of contents, tables get borders, and equations stay editable in Word. There is a formal academic layout for papers too.

Frequently asked questions
Paste the text or open a .md file, choose the Word format and a layout — standard, Russian academic or compact — and press Download Word. You get a .docx file that opens in Microsoft Word, LibreOffice, Pages and Google Docs. After the download a short report appears under the button: how many tables and equations made it in and what could not be carried over.
Yes. One hash becomes the Heading 1 style, two hashes Heading 2, and so on down to the sixth level. That is why the navigation pane and the automatic table of contents work straight away, and the look of every heading changes in one place — the style. Quotes get the Quote style, code blocks a Code style and body text Normal.
Yes. LaTeX inside $…$, $$…$$, \(…\) and \[…\] turns into native Word equations that you can edit with the built-in equation editor, just like ones typed by hand. Fractions, powers, subscripts, roots, sums, integrals, matrices and brackets all carry over. If an equation cannot be parsed, it is inserted as monospaced text and the report counts it.
It follows the Russian standard GOST 7.32-2017 for papers and reports: Times New Roman 14, 1.5 line spacing, margins of 30 mm on the left, 15 on the right and 20 at the top and bottom, a 1.25 cm first-line indent, justified text and page numbers centred at the bottom. Universities add their own rules, so check your guidelines.
Tick Contents at the start and a Word contents field built from the first three heading levels goes at the top of the document. Word fills in the page numbers when you update the field: right-click the contents and choose Update Field. Do the same after editing the text, and the contents follow the new headings and pages.
No. The Word document is built in your browser: the library that writes .docx files is downloaded to your computer when you press the button, and the text never goes to a server. Images linked from other sites are not fetched — that would be a request to someone else’s server — so a caption with the address takes their place.
